Amity Baker - Treasurer
Treasurer of the Board, Finance Committee Chair
Amity is a CPA with JMM & Associates, a public accounting firm in Colchester, VT where she specializes in auditing not-for-profit organizations. Before becoming a CPA, Amity had a checkered professional past doing everything from teaching English in Taiwan, to digging test pits with an archaeological firm, to being a church secretary.

Charlotte Safran - Secretary
Strategic Planning Committee Member
Charlotte works at the VT Dept. of Health as Family and Community Engagement Coordinator. She is also in the 2022-2023 fellowship cohort with the VTLEND program. Prior to these roles, Charlotte co-created, coordinated, and managed the Patient and Family-Centered Care program at the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Charlotte lives in Burlington with her three children and loves cooking and spending time with those she loves.

Pam Shea
Board Member
Pam has worked with children and families for many years and in varied capacities. Currently she is a clinician at Howard Center Early Childhood Program with a specialization in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Pam is excited to be part of the Family Room board because it aligns deeply with her personal commitment to building authentic connections, creating inclusive communities, and empowering families. In her spare time Pam enjoys gardening, world cooking, kayaking, and being silly whenever possible.

Trudy Namubiru

Trudy is a mother of a 6-year-old daughter working with Champlain Valley Office of Economic
Opportunity (CVOEO), a social service organization in Burlington Vermont as an Accounts Payable
Specialist.
After college she decided to work with only non profit humanitarian organizations to better lives of
people- especially the under privileged, minorities and children. Trudy is a member of the family room
since 2019 when she moved to Burlington Vermont.
Trudy loves Vermont and to her, Burlington was the home she was searching for all her life.
Even though Trudy’s voice is not perfect for singing she enjoys music and dancing.

Belen Martindale
Strategic Planning Committee Member
Belen was born and completed her university studies in Guadalajara, Mexico. She came to Vermont in 2014 and she works independently on her graphic design and illustration business.
Belen's family found a place in the Family Room in 2019, which worked out to provide a strong framework of support in community, friends and education that allowed her to more easily weather the trials of being a new parent, especially being far from her family that she loves.
She believes that supporting the positive development of children and their families is the foundation to building a stronger community and is interested in using her position on the board to learn and share her experience and knowledge that will contribute to this goal.
She loves spending time with her husband and daughter and working at her plot in the Family Room garden. Lately, she is becoming passionate about growing peppers, making salsas and learning about food preservation techniques.

Lindsay Longe
Finance Committee Member
Lindsay is the Major Gifts Officer for Academic Health Sciences at the UVM Medical Center. She works with patients and their families, community members, and alumni of the UVM Larner College of Medicine to raise money for patient care, education, and research. She is passionate about the importance of positive early childhood experiences, family connections, and community.

Tinotenda Charles Rutanhira

Tino Rutanhira was born in Harare Zimbabwe. He completed university studies in South Africa before immigrating to the US.
Tino is currently employed at Dealer.com. He is the Co-Founder and Board Chair of The Vermont Professionals of Color Network and also sits on the Board of The Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. An Entrepreneur by heart, over the last 5 years Tino has; produced and hosted his own podcast called "On The Shoulders of Giants”, co-founded, owns and operates Best In VT Tours & Charters, acted in a play at the Flynn called "The Call", and performed Standup Comedy at the VT Comedy Club. In 2019, he co-founded The Vermont Professionals of Color Network.
When not working or creating, Tino enjoys listening to music or podcasts, and watching or playing in competitive sports. He loves to play and watch football (soccer), and most Saturdays he can be seen in his beloved Liverpool FC jersey yelling at the TV!
Most importantly, Tino is a single parent of the most beautiful, intelligent, amazing, (insert glowing adjective here ...) 15-year-old daughter. Parenting is by far his biggest source of pride and joy.

Yasamin Gordon
Board Member
Yasamin Gordon (she/ her) is Director of Equity, Inclusion & Culture for Opportunity Consulting, a Washington D.C. Based equity consulting firm- where she is responsible for ensuring equitable policy within growth, innovation, and organizational culture and is responsible for ensuring all projects and client engagements in contain a lens of equity and anti racism, in order to produce the greatest possible positive impact. She is a social justice policy professional with 20 years of experience leading change within organizations in the Public Education, Municipal Government, Transportation, and Non-profit private sector. She holds tertiary degrees in Social Work and Applied Social Studies and has a thorough understanding of systemic racism, institutional oppression, equitable policy development, anti-racism advocacy, community outreach & inclusion practices. Yasamin most recently worked as the Equity Director for the City of Winooski, where she developed new strategies for increased civic engagement, inclusion of diverse voices among municipal leadership, and improved the voting process to increased opportunity for all residents. Prior to that, for 15 years she held leadership roles as the Lead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coach and Co-Director of Behavior Systems for one of the largest public school districts in her home state of Vermont. Her passion is working to dismantle and redevelop systems in order to successfully improve lives and increase opportunities for marginalized communities.

Brooke McFarlin - Co-Chair

Brooke began her career in real estate in 2022, following her tenure as a Business Manager for a Burlington, VT physical therapy and functional training facility. With a passion for green home construction and sustainable living, Brooke spends her free-time educating herself on the future of sustainable building materials, exploring Vermont with her two dogs and partner, and renovating her South Burlington home.

Mick Leddy - Co-Chair

Mick is a partner at the Burlington law firm McNeil, Leddy & Sheahan. In his law practice he has represented a wide array of clients, working with municipalities, non-profit entities, school districts, as well as individuals and small businesses, to address a range of issues and needs. Mick believes in family and community, and is proud to be a part of the Janet S. Munt Family Room team. He was born and raised in Burlington, and after stints in Massachusetts and Ohio, now lives in Essex with his wife and two children.

Toni Foote
HR Board Representative
Toni has spent her career working to get folks access to the services they need while helping them create and connect to community. When not working she hangs out at home with her 6 sons (all of them Family Room kids!) and a jungle of plant babies.
